Who I Am & Why I’m Running
My name is Gheorghe Teofil Golea. I am a Veteran, an immigrant, and a proud American and Californian.
I am running for Governor of California because I am tired of working hard, doing everything right — working, raising a family, following the rules — and still not getting ahead. Too many of us are not truly living anymore; we are merely surviving.
California should be a place where we can afford to live, feel safe in our communities, access quality healthcare, and know our children have a real future — and where no one is forced to live on the streets. Homelessness is a problem we can solve with practical solutions and strong leadership. California was once a place of the American Dream — and for too many, it has become a dream crusher.
I’m not running to protect the system as it is. I’m running to fix what’s broken — and with your help, we will create practical solutions, demand real accountability, and deliver leadership that puts people first, not politics.
This campaign is about restoring trust, affordability, and opportunity across every part of our state — from our cities, to our suburbs, to our rural communities. This will not be easy, but together, it is achievable.
Together, we can lower the cost of living by at least $300 a month for every working Californian — that’s $3,600 a year back in your pocket.
California’s cost of living has hit families especially hard — rent, groceries, gas, and taxes keep rising while paychecks don’t stretch far enough. You deserve a Governor who listens, shows up, and delivers real results. I’m running to lower costs, expand opportunity, and make Sacramento work for working people again.
